Bucksmore UK Christmas Quarantine course

The Bucksmore Christmas Quarantine course allows students to return home for Christmas, and spend their 14-day quarantine period back in the UK on a Covid-secure campus. The course includes 22 hours of project work on leadership, public speaking, and 21st-century skills taken directly from Bucksmore’s award-winning Young Leaders syllabus.

Students will be taken directly to the centre by private transfer upon arrival in the UK. They will immediately be tested, and will quarantine in their individual rooms until a negative Covid test is returned. Upon return of a negative test, students will be allowed to socialise with other students in the quarantine campus bubble.

On Monday 11th January students will be transferred to their schools. These will be private transfers except in the case of students attending the same school where they may be transferred as a group. While at St Albans Academy, students and staff on the Bucksmore programme will be in a self-contained ‘quarantine bubble’ with no interaction outside of the group. Inside the bubble, strict protective measures will be in place.

Leadership Project - Model UN

Students work in small groups taking on the role of a delegation to the UN to discuss, and try to reach agreement on, a global issue. Students will be introduced to the issue before breaking into groups representing an individual country to consider their stand point. As the course progresses students will research the issues involved for their country and build their argument ready to take part in the end of course debate.

Dates: 27th December – 11th January (Allowing for 14 full days of quarantine upon arrival). All students must arrive on 27th December.

Age range: 12-17. Location: Academy St Albans, St Albans
Course fee: £ 2,400 All Inclusive
