Parents’ Intensive English Course

The course consists of 15 hours of tuition per week. Levels of English will be assessed upon arrival and then teaching takes place in small groups every weekday morning.

Every afternoon and at weekends, a wide range of cultural, creative and sporting activities and excursions are available. Informal evening activities, throughout the week, will develop and improve conversational skills. These include quiz and bingo nights, cookery demonstrations, weekly cocktail parties, talks by local guest speakers, wine-tasting, chef’s night dinners, English sports afternoons, croquet and cream tea, and canal walks to local pubs.

Excursions include visits to local historical towns such as Chester and Shrewsbury, as well as historical houses and castles belonging to the National Trust. Trips further afield include Liverpool, Manchester and Oxford, and the coasts and castles of North Wales, for cultural and shopping experiences.

3 – 7 year olds: In the mornings, children attend 2 hours of English lessons. On some afternoons, parents have the option of taking their children with them on excursions or the children may take part in Moreton Hall’s renowned Holiday Club programme, where they continue to improve their English through interactive themed activities together with British boys and girls and those of other nationalities.
