The University of Strathclyde International Study Centre provides specialist degree preparation for international students. Our programmes combine academic modules, study skills and English language training. They aim to give you the best chance of success when you progress to your degree at the University.
Our preparatory programme comes with a conditional offer of a place at Strathclyde. You must complete your programme and meet the progression criteria. Then you may progress to your chosen university degree. In 2016, 95% of students who completed their course at the International Study Centre got a place to study at the University of Strathclyde.

While you are an International Study Centre student you can choose to live in a room in University-managed accommodation. You also have the option to arrange your own accommodation.

You can study one of three pathways. Your choice will depend on your academic background, English language level, and age:
Undergraduate Foundation Programme 2020-2021
A pathway to the second year of a four-year undergraduate degree
Business and Social Studies; £ 14,650 for 3 terms
This pathway will prepare you for your chosen undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences or Strathclyde Business School.
Engineering and Sciences; £ 16,500 for 3 terms
This pathway will prepare you for your chosen undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science.
International Year One BBA: £15,000 for 3 terms
A pathway to the second year of a three-year BBA degree. By completing the programme and achieving the required grades, you can progress into the 2nd year of the three-year BBA Business Administration programme at the Strathclyde Business School.
Pre-Masters Programme 2020-2021
A pathway to postgraduate study. Once you have completed the Pre-Masters Programme, and subject to satisfying the progression criteria, you can proceed to your postgraduate degree at the University.
Business and Social Studies; £ 11,500 for 2 terms
This pathway will prepare you for your chosen undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Humanities & Social Sciences or Strathclyde Business School.
Engineering and Sciences; £ 11,500 for 2 terms
This pathway will prepare you for your chosen undergraduate degree at the Faculty of Engineering or Faculty of Science.
Other Cost
Study Care insurance cover will cover you for loss of personal possessions, travel delay, as well as providing medical insurance until the end of your programme. You can purchase Study Care as part of your application process.
