International House Language Institute London Young MBA is a taster of a real MBA programme but aimed at secondary-school students. It covers all of the concepts a real MBA programme would, but in two weeks. It focuses on an introduction to leadership skills, strategic thinking, business planning and so on.

This course runs for two weeks in either London or Portsmouth, both at prestigious university campuses. The location is within easy reach of industry-specific hubs, museums and discovery centres.

It is ideal for students who are interested in business or entrepreneurship. The course offers students a first step in becoming leading business people of the future. It also helps students identify their own strengths and weaknesses. 

The programme offers a range of stimulating lectures and workshops delivered by business coaches and leaders. This provides a greater insight into today’s business environment. To test their learning during the course, students will work in small groups on a shared business plan that they will present at the end of the programme.

Students will also have the chance to visit important places of interest close to London or Portsmouth, including Cambridge University, Windsor Castle and the Design Museum. 

We recommend that students have at least B2 level English to be able to make the most of this course.

This option is available for 14–17 year-olds in London and Portsmouth.

The International House Language Institute 2022 Future Leaders Entrepreneurship

For ages 14-17, an English course for budding entrepreneurs to build their skills and a business plan for their big ideas. Available in winter, and summer

For entrepreneurs in the making: improve core skills such as debating, critical thinking, and team work, for bright, academic and professional careers. Includes special trips such as a tour of the Houses of Parliament. 

The course runs like a conference, with students enjoying an exciting programme of guest speakers and workshops.

Future Leaders Entrepreneurship encourages students to explore contemporary skills such as debating, critical thinking, and team work. Students work in groups with a mix of nationalities to build a business plan for a social enterprise that will benefit their community.

Students will learn about how to start a business, considering funding and financing as well as writing a business plan. They will pitch their business to a panel of judges on the final day of the course and the best group will win the prestigious Future Leaders Cup.

The course is delivered in English and students will work with others from all over the world using English to communicate and to deliver the end of course presentation. During the course students will develop their business vocabulary and in doing so also improve their English.

There are two full-day trips and one half-day trip as part of the course.

Trips at Oxford include: a walking tour and entry to a University of Oxford college, London with a tour of the Houses of Parliament, and Cambridge with entry to King’s College, a walking tour and punting on the River Cam. 

Trips at London include: the Houses of Parliament in London, Oxford with a University of Oxford college tour, Camden Market in London, and Brighton. Additional trips in London include the V&A Museum, the British Museum, a company visit, and the London Eye.
