Reap the benefits of an educational experience unlike any other
Our staff are experts in Sport and Physical Education, many of whom have played professional sport to the highest level. Of course we realise that all students are individuals, so we tailor the courses by providing a wide variety of sports and non-sports courses. In doing so we’re able to offer players the opportunity to personalise their learning pathways.
Each player on the International Football Academy will be accommodated at Bearwood College in modern and comfortable boarding houses that provide players with the opportunity to stay alongside team mates in either single or shared rooms. Each room has access to Wi-Fi along with its own private bathroom and toilet facilities.
Each player will have access to The College’s historic dining hall for all of their meals. The wide selection of freshly prepared meals and snacks are created each day by the school chef and their dedicated kitchen staff. With the help of expert nutritionists, they ensure that your child’s meal times and diet are expertly put together and coordinated to ensure that they are well fuelled to perform on match days.
Study at the International Football Academy
As the United Kingdom is an English speaking country and with English being the predominant language of business the world over, we place a high premium on developing each student’s English speaking and writing skills. Through experience we have found that this has been known to stand them in good stead when it comes to opening doors for employment once the programme is complete.
We do this by running our education courses on a tried and trusted bespoke Virtual Learning Platform called ‘The Sport Brain’. As an advanced system, ‘The Sport Brain’ provides 24 hour-a-day electronic access to course material that can be translated into other languages. That way the programme enables students whose first language is not English to get to grips with key subject material. It is anticipated that all learners will spend 12-15 hours per week in the classroom understanding theoretical knowledge which will bolster their chances of success at the end of the programme
All learners will have the opportunity to be schooled in a selection of courses that include:
- Level 2 BTEC First Diploma in Sport
- Level 3 BTEC Subsidiary Diploma in Sport
- Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport
- Level 3 BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma
- NVQ Level 2 Activity Leadership
- NVQ Level 3 Sports Development
- Level 1 Functional Skills
- Level 2 Functional Skills
- National Governing Body coaching qualifications in various sports
- English speaking classes
- English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Theory is one thing, putting that newly learned into practice is quite something else. There can be no substitute for on the job training, so The Youth Premier League will provide each player with the opportunity to play against high level opposition each week.
